What You Didn't Know About Mike

Well this is an introduction of myself for those who wish to know a little more about who I am and what my values, morals, and goals are. I am an African/Jamaican American from Connecticut. Though I'm more in tune with my "African American" side, I do take pride in considering my other side as well. Many of my moral beliefs derive from Christian faith which, indeed, plays a dominant role in my life as far as the way I behave and the way I think are concerned. I attend the University of Connecticut where I study political science and I am quite interested in it. My ultimate goal, though, is to go off to law school, obtain my J.D., and practice law in the public sphere probably specializing in criminal defense representing underprivileged minority groups. I am a liberal Democrat even though I don't approve of each and every single policy affiliated with my party. I like to read, write, dance, sing, watch (not play lol) basketball, and other things in my leisure time. Others describe me as a very energetic, funny, and good-natured person who's considerate and very wise for my young age lol. This is pleasing to my ears because I really do strive to be a positive role model for young men and women who come from backgrounds very similar to my own. I strongly advocate education, self-motivation, and optimism because I feel that the three combined is the formula needed to create and obtain success. "Self-motivation to obtain an education, while remaining optimistic in face of doubt, hardship, and failure, will ultimately lead one to success".. This is just one of the many sayings I live by and I try to remind myself of it everyday. Well, that's enough about me because my fingers are tired from typing... lol
